Tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are offering a series of products and tours to meet market demand.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran The Dung - General Director of Vietluxtour Company - said that to prepare for the year-end tour market and Tet 2025, the unit has worked with airlines to get a series of flight tickets early.
The company also discusses with partners and reputable suppliers at home and abroad to design new and unique programs as well as reserve services in order to have the best prices and tour quality for tourists. In the group tour market, tourists tend to choose reward tours and year-end summary tours for businesses.
This year's Tet holiday, Viet Travel Joint Stock Company prepares more than 160 tours to popular destinations such as: Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Northwest, Thailand, Japan, Korea... with many new destinations, new services such as wrapping Chung cake, experiencing local Tet cultural festivals.
According to Mr. Pham Anh Vu - Communications Director of Viet Tourism Joint Stock Company, recorded data shows that the trend of choosing Tet tours this year has changed significantly, such as tours to explore nature, fresh resorts in mountainous areas, highlands or island tourism is more interested. It is expected that foreign tourist routes will still overwhelm the proportion of domestic tourists.
Tet tour prices increase
According to Mr. Anh Vu, currently, airlines have opened early Tet ticket sales, but the prices are recorded as quite high, creating great pressure for both travel businesses and tourists. One of the things that tourists often hesitate when choosing a package tour is the high tour price, almost on holidays, not just Tet. Tet tour prices in 2025 will increase by 5-15% compared to normal days, mainly due to increased transportation and service costs.
BenThanh Tourist Company informed that due to the high demand for travel, depending on the route, domestic tour prices increased from 7-23% compared to tours departing on normal days. International tour prices increased from 4-23% compared to normal days.
Currently, tourism businesses have plans to prepare discounts for tourists when booking tours.
Promoting inner-city tours in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet
At the end of the year and Tet 2025, localities and tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City continue to develop product lines such as Saigon Special Forces tour, District 1 - Night Colors, double-decker bus tour, river bus tour, night tour with the Moon of the War Zone at the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site... This is a typical local product line, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. This also helps stimulate tourism demand in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first 10 months of 2024, international visitors to the city are estimated at 4,661,180, up 12.9% over the same period in 2023, reaching 77.7% of the 2024 plan; domestic tourists to the city are estimated at 30,916,650, up 1.3% over the same period in 2023, reaching 81.4% of the 2024 plan. Total tourism revenue in the first 10 months of 2024 is estimated at VND 156,649 billion, up 11.9% over the same period in 2023, reaching 82.4% of the 2024 plan.
