Aspiration to bring the voice of the village to the parliament
In the list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly in Nghe An, the name Lo Thi Bao Vy - a 24-year-old teacher of the O Du ethnic group - attracted the attention of many voters. Not only because of her young age, Bao Vy is also the first person of the O Du ethnic group to run for the highest state power body.

Born and raised in Vang Mon village, Nga My commune, the western mountainous region of Nghe An, Bao Vy's childhood was associated with red dirt roads, school days away from home and the farming life of her family. That circumstances nurtured in the young girl the belief that only knowledge can open the way to change her life and the community.
As a teacher at Quynh Lap A Primary School, Tan Mai ward, Bao Vy directly stands in class every day, interacts with students and understands the difficulties of education in ethnic minority areas. Many remote school sites still lack facilities, teaching equipment is not synchronized, and students' travel conditions are still facing many obstacles, especially during the rainy and flood season.
According to Bao Vy, after the big flood in 2025, many mountainous families fell into more difficult circumstances; schools were damaged, and students' books were swept away. The images of students coming to class in poor conditions always make her ponder.
Education is the most sustainable path to change life and develop the homeland. If there are more opportunities, I want to contribute to bringing the voice of teachers and students in mountainous areas to the National Assembly's policies," Bao Vy shared.
In the action program presented to voters, the young female teacher expressed her desire for education development policies in remote and isolated areas to be implemented more practically; and at the same time to increase investment in school facilities and expand scholarship opportunities for ethnic minority students.
The pride of a small nation

The O Du ethnic group is one of the smallest ethnic groups in Vietnam, currently with only about 700 people, mainly living in Nga My commune, Nghe An. Therefore, the introduction of an O Du girl to run for National Assembly deputy is not only a personal story but also of special significance to the community.
According to Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation, in recent years, many policies of the Party and State have been implemented to support socio-economic development, improve the lives and preserve the cultural identity of the O Du people. The maturity of the young generation, including Bao Vy, is considered proof of the effectiveness of these policies.
Bao Vy said that participating in the National Assembly deputy election at the age of 24 is both an honor and a great responsibility. For her, this journey is not to assert herself, but to send a message that young people and ethnic minorities can completely rise up if they have will and are given conditions to study and develop.
In recent years, in addition to teaching, Bao Vy has also actively participated in charity activities, mobilizing resources to support poor students. Currently, she is the Charity Ambassador of the "Learning with You" program, a program aimed at accompanying students in difficult circumstances to continue going to school.
Bao Vy affirmed that she will continue to be attached to the teaching profession and community activities. What she wants most is to spread the belief that the light of knowledge can help highland children step out of their villages, confidently affirming their position in society.
Lo Thi Bao Vy was born in 2002, of the O Du ethnic group, from Lang Mon village, Nga My commune, Nghe An province. She graduated from Vinh University and is currently a teacher at Quynh Lap A Primary School, Tan Mai ward. Bao Vy is one of the young candidates in the list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly in Nghe An.
