The project to improve the drainage system in the western area of Hanoi city (Yen Nghia pumping station) started in 2015 with a total investment of more than 7,000 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment).
This is a key project of the city, which is important in draining the entire western area of the city, especially during stormy and flooded days.
However, the Yen Nghia pumping station was not completed until January 2020. In this project, the project of hardening the entire La Khe canal has not been completed due to problems with site clearance.

The leader of the People's Committee of Ha Dong Ward said that immediately after the two-level local government came into operation (July 1, 2025), the People's Committee of Ha Dong Ward urgently continued the site clearance work for the project to improve the drainage system in the West of Hanoi City.
According to the leader of the People's Committee of Ha Dong Ward, through review and synthesis, at the beginning of October 2025, there were 34 households with an area of 1,528.0m2 that had signed a record of handing over the site to implement the project.
By the end of October 24, Ha Dong ward had completed the demolition of 31/34 works with a total area of about 1,150m2.
For the remaining 3 households that have not relocated their assets, have not handed over the site and are continuing to give opinions, the Ward People's Committee will continue to propagate, mobilize and carry out site clearance according to the law.
In case the households do not voluntarily comply, the Ward People's Committee will develop a plan to protect the site for demolition of the project, striving to complete it before November 5 to hand over to the investor and construction units to implement the project.

According to Mr. Ta Vinh Khoi - Director of the Ha Dong Ward Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board, in addition to the above 34 projects, there are 14 cases that need to continue site clearance for project construction (about 2,438.3m2 of land), located in many different locations.
It is expected that from now until December 31, 2025, the ward will focus on developing a compensation and support plan, organizing payment and site clearance, and handing over to the investor to implement the project.
"The tasks related to site clearance are being vigorously implemented by local authorities. If any work can be implemented immediately, the ward will do it without delay, ensuring the handover of the site to the construction unit as soon as possible, Mr. Ta Vinh Khoi affirmed.
