The project to build the Ring Road 2.5, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section (Hanoi) is invested in the form of a BT (build - transfer) contract with a length of 1.6km, with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND.
The project started in 2014 and was expected to be completed in 2017 but was behind schedule.
In 2020, the project was temporarily suspended when it had only reached about 40% of the workload. The reason is due to difficulties in site clearance and extension of BT contract appendices.
After 5 years of suspension, at the end of May 2025, with the permission of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hoang Mai - Hanoi Construction Investment Company Limited (project enterprise) held a restart ceremony for the Ring Road 2.5 Construction Project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on September 10, a representative of Hoang Mai Construction Investment Company Limited - Hanoi said that after the project was restarted, the project enterprise had directed the contractor to mobilize many machines and personnel to carry out the construction of project items.
For package No. 1 (section 1, Km0+00 to Km1+381.7), the contractor has completed the crushed stone aggregate (base) for the section from lane 192 Le Trong Tan to Dam Hong, including both sides of the road.
In parallel with the granting of crushed stone, the contractor is also constructing the sidewalk item in this section.
Also in package 1, the construction of sidewalks from lane 192 Le Trong Tan to bridge L1, including the installation of information pipes, electricity (underground), water... is also being implemented by the contractor.
For package No. 2 (construction of L3 bridge across Lu river, route Km1+394) has organized the construction of 20 bored piles, all bridge piers and cast all girders (temporarily suspended from 2020 to present).
Currently, the contractor is moving technical infrastructure works around the bridge including electricity, water, information (cable)... according to the approved design to complete the L3 bridge.
After the technical infrastructure works are completed, temporary roads will be built for vehicles to circulate, serving the bridge construction work.
The representative of the project enterprise committed to ensuring safe and quality construction, and is expected to complete the Ring Road 2.5 project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section, in time for the opening of the Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass.
The Ring Road 2.5 construction project is expected to play an important role in improving traffic infrastructure, reducing congestion and connecting urban areas. This is a key traffic project that creates momentum for socio-economic development in the southern area of the city.
