According to the report of the Pacific Group contractor consortium, the construction unit has begun to drill and fill piles for the underpass under National Highway 5, the main pillars P37 and P38 of the Tu Lien Bridge project and the road at both ends of the bridge.
The deposit drilling work is expected to be completed in October 2025.
On the South bank in Hong Ha ward, the drilling line has been operating since mid-July. The contractor is making efforts to soon pour the first piles of concrete for P37 tower in the next few weeks.
According to the plan, all bored piles will be completed by the end of 2025. In 2026, contractors will focus on the construction of the main tower, and in early 2027, the steel beams will be cast.

The investment project to build Tu Lien Bridge and the road at both ends of the bridge is one of the key traffic projects of Hanoi, however, the project is facing many challenges, especially in site clearance (GPMB) and natural environmental conditions.
The total land acquisition area for the project is 62.53 hectares, involving nearly 560 households and organizations in Hong Ha and Bo De wards.
Although some areas such as before the National Exhibition Center and public land at pillar P38 (about 3,000m2 within the GPMB boundary and 15,000m2 outside the boundary) have been handed over, many other areas have not yet been completed.
At the P37 pillar, only a part of public land (1 600/14,400m2 within the boundary and 1,400/34,000m2 outside the boundary) was handed over. Tay Ho, Hong Ha and Bo De wards are coordinating to speed up site clearance, especially in the P37 pillar area - the project's progress focus.

Engineer Mai Minh Thang - Deputy Commander of the Trung Chinh Company's construction site, said: "Currently, the site clearance is very limited. We hope to soon have an entrance from 310 Nghi Tam alley to the P37 pillar location to facilitate equipment transportation and synchronous deployment of items. Currently, transportation via the river is greatly affected by the water level of the Red River".
On the North bank, outside the P38 pillar area, the remaining areas still have no roads to the construction site. Contractors have to use riverways to transport machinery and materials, increasing costs and construction time.
Here, the construction site of the P38 pillar has been handed over, mainly public land for growing crops. The contractor has land, but the surrounding areas have not been cleared.

Mr. Vu Trung Thang - Deputy Director of the Executive Board of Phuong Thanh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - shared: "Currently, only the P38 pillar area has been handed over. Meanwhile, the road leading to the construction site has not yet been formed, so the transportation of materials must mainly be done through the river, causing many obstacles".
Sharing the same view, Mr. Mai Minh Thang - Construction Commander of Trung Chinh Company said that accessing the project by road is currently very difficult. Contractors are forced to bring machinery and equipment across the waterway, relying heavily on natural factors.
"We hope to hand over the entire site soon to have space to gather equipment, materials and deploy construction teams simultaneously, thereby ensuring the project completion progress by 2027 as planned" - Mr. Thang emphasized.
