Keep the passion burning
2025 - a very special year, it is the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (1925-2025). In the flow of journalism, Lao Dong is one of the oldest newspapers and has made many great contributions to the country's journalism career. That is a proud tradition and is always engraved in the hearts of those who work at Lao Dong Newspaper.
Along with the recognition of readers, every time the name Lao Dong Newspaper is mentioned in the press awards, we are extremely happy and proud. It is not only the pride of the individual, the author or the group of authors who won the award, but it is the pride of the people who work at Lao Dong Newspaper.
Journalism awards are not only an honor for excellent works, but also a testament to the dedication and responsibility of those working in the profession. To reap the “sweet fruits” of award-winning articles or receive widespread and responsive responses from the public, we cannot fail to mention the leading, guiding and caring role of the Editorial Board and the leaders of the Newspaper. That is also a reminder of our responsibility when producing journalistic works.
Concerns and responsibilities
Journalistic works can be inspired by everyday stories, social issues of concern and sometimes also by the concerns of journalists with the vivid realities of life. An award-winning journalistic work not only requires creativity in expression but is also the result of a process of exploration, research and commitment even to new and difficult issues.
As with the series of articles "Fighting against plots to downgrade the role of the working class and Vietnamese trade unions", it took us a long time to research, study documents and evaluate issues to present content related to identifying tricks to sabotage the working class and trade union organizations.
Or in the series of articles “Leaving no one behind: Great solidarity for a strong Vietnam”, the group of authors has painstakingly researched the great solidarity housing projects for the poor; affirming the spirit that all people have the opportunity to move forward and enjoy the fruits of development. That is also the humanity in the social security policy of our Party and State.
Another series of articles is: “A busy and successful year of the National Assembly’s foreign affairs”. The series of articles is based on diligence, observation, summary, evaluation, and connection of events to provide analysis, commentary, and multi-dimensional, comprehensive perspectives on the socio-economic situation and foreign relations of Vietnam.
Indeed, a good article is not only a story told in an attractive way, but also must bring practical value, suggest solutions or create positive changes, and contribute to spreading good and humane values. Journalists must always be concerned and responsible for the problems of real life. That is also the advice of the Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper and many generations of Lao Dong Newspaper staff always remind us during our career.
Behind every award is a lot of effort and pressure. Being named is a source of pride, but also a reminder to try harder. That is what makes us always remind ourselves to keep the flame of passion burning and not be satisfied with what we have achieved. Journalism is a long journey and we want to go to the end of that journey.
At the 18th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2023 held in Hanoi on the evening of June 21, 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper won 1 B prize and 1 C prize. At the second National Press Awards Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Council (Dien Hong Award) - 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper won 1 C prize and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the National Assembly Office. At the 8th National Press Awards Ceremony on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award), Lao Dong Newspaper won 1 C prize and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Organizing Committee for its outstanding achievements in responding to the award. In 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper was also awarded in many press competitions such as the 16th Press Award for the Great National Unity Cause; Political Contest on Protecting the Ideological Foundation in the Party Committee of the Central Agencies.
