According to the latest updated announcement from the Repatriation Team of Martyrs' remains under the Ho Chi Minh City Command, on July 9, functional forces discovered and exhumed 5 more sets of martyrs' remains and 2 sets of artifacts of martyrs. Up to now, the total number of martyrs' remains found and repatriated in the Le Thi Rieng Park area has reached 16.
This result was achieved after the task force concentrated 100% of their troops, made efforts to accelerate the progress and proceeded to expand the burial pit on the same morning. Specifically, the entire team excavated and expanded a pit with a depth of 2m, length of 5m and width of 3m. It is estimated that the volume of soil excavated and carefully peeled off by functional forces during the day reached about 50 cubic meters.
Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Command said that on July 10, specialized forces will continue to closely monitor the scene to carry out the search task.
