At noon on January 21, the People's Committee of Cai Lay district (Tien Giang province) confirmed that the authorities of Cai Lay district and the family had found a 3-year-old boy who had died from drowning.
The boy is the son of Mr. T (living in Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province). Previously, on the evening of January 19, Mr. T and his 3-year-old son went to a neighbor's house to play. A while later, Mr. T did not see his son so he and the locals went down to Hai Tan canal to look for him but could not find him.
The incident was reported to local authorities and functional forces. Rescue forces of the commune and district were present at the Hai Tan canal area to organize the search.
By the evening of January 20, the boy's body was found in this canal.
Authorities have performed an autopsy, determined that the victim died from drowning and have handed over the body to the family for burial.
