On July 25, information from Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee (An Giang province), the My Thoi area Fire and Rescue Team (under the Fire and Rescue Police Department, An Giang Provincial Police) in coordination with relevant functional forces, local authorities and people found the body of a child in the drowning incident that occurred on Long Xuyen canal, in the Dong An hamlet area (now Dong Phu hamlet), Bui Van Danh street, Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province.
The body of D. M.T (born in 2015) was found at about 10 pm on July 24. Functional forces urgently deployed procedures to hand over the victim's body to the family for burial. At the same time, they organized visits and encouragement to relatives of the victim.

Right on the morning of July 25, the working delegation of Long Xuyen Ward visited, encouraged and provided initial support to the families of the two children in distress with 25 million VND each.
As reported, in the late afternoon of July 24, the My Thoi Fire and Rescue Team deployed forces to coordinate with relevant units to urgently organize the search for a child who drowned and went missing on the Long Xuyen canal.
According to initial information, at about 4:10 pm on July 24, people discovered a drowning incident on the Long Xuyen canal. The victims were identified as D. M.T (born 2015) and V.H. L (born 2017), both residing in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province.
Immediately upon receiving the news, Long Xuyen Ward Police sent forces to rescue and brought L. ashore and took her to An Giang General Hospital for emergency treatment, but she did not survive. D. M.T. went missing and was actively searched for by coordinated forces.
