On the evening of September 13, information from Rescue Team 116, at about 9 pm on the same day, functional forces and the rescue team found the body of the person who jumped off Bo bridge on September 12.
Initial information, the person who jumped off Bo bridge on September 12 was Mr. L (born in 1996, in Dong Hung commune). At that time, Major Tran Van Tung (born in 1987, Battalion Commander of Battalion 3, Infantry Regiment 568, Hung Yen Provincial Military Command) jumped into the Tra Ly River to rescue Mr. L. When approached, Mr. L was struggling in the water, due to the strong current, both were swept away.
Previously, on the evening of September 13, functional forces and the rescue team found the body of Major Tran Van Tung at a location about 300m from Bo bridge.
Faced with a dangerous situation, Major Tran Van Tung did not hesitate to rush into the fast-flowing river to rescue people. Major Tran Van Tung's brave action moved and admired many witnesses.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces urgently mobilized personnel and vehicles, and synchronously deployed search and rescue plans on the Tra Ly River. On the morning of September 13, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Hung Yen Provincial Armed Forces, Border Guards, and Provincial Police, along with search and rescue forces, participated in the search.
Functional forces focused on reviewing the area at the foot of Bo bridge, and at the same time expanded the search scope according to the flow of the river, closely following locations where the victims were likely drifting.
