Mr. Pham Duy Hung - Acting Director of Hon Gai Coal Company, Ha Long City - said that to bring more than 1,600 miners and their relatives back to their hometowns to celebrate Lunar New Year 2025, the company has arranged 37 large, luxurious passenger cars.
As planned, from early this morning (the 5th day of Tet), the vehicles were present at the pick-up points, including the farthest points in the district centers of the Northwestern provinces, to bring the miners and their families and relatives back to Ha Long, so that they can start production tomorrow.
"It is expected that the last vehicles will arrive in Ha Long this evening," said Mr. Hung.
Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Long City also has a strong workforce of miners, with more than 1,000 people, all of whom are young people from remote villages in the Northwest region.
Most of them returned home to celebrate Lunar New Year 2025.
The Chairman of the Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company said that since early this morning, buses carrying miners and their relatives and families have been preparing to return to Quang Ninh.
Previously, the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) arranged about 270 passenger buses to bring nearly 10,000 miners and their relatives and families back to their hometowns to celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year.
After Tet, passenger vans were dispatched to their hometowns to pick them up and take them to Quang Ninh.
Arranging vehicles to pick up miners and their families and relatives to go home for Tet and return to Quang Ninh has become a tradition of TKV, because in the past, for miners to travel on their own during Tet was a difficult and arduous journey.
According to information from underground coal mining units, this evening, TKV's team of miners will basically return to Quang Ninh, to simultaneously open the Spring Festival tomorrow.
Meanwhile, yesterday (February 1), open-pit coal mines began to resume production, with workers and laborers mainly from Quang Ninh, who have homes in Quang Ninh or some neighboring localities.
