The elevator takes the group of officials and workers working in the underground mine of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Long City from the ground to a depth of - 350m. From here, the miners board the electric train (a specialized term in the coal industry is a double-loan train) waiting to go to the areas with wells (coal mining sites).
The distance from the foot of the elevator to the last stop of the tram line is more than 1km and from this location, the miners walk a short distance to the wells.
This train system not only transports workers and laborers but also transports materials, machinery, etc. to serve underground coal mining.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong - Chairman of the Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company - the project of installing an electric train system to serve workers and laborers to travel and transport materials for production in the -350 deep mine was assigned to the Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company to implement.
This is a practical project to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (October 10, 1994 - October 10, 2024), the 88th anniversary of the Mining Workers' Tradition Day - Coal Industry Tradition (November 12, 1936 - November 12, 2024) and the 36th anniversary of the Company's establishment (November 7, 1988 - November 7, 2024).
The project has an investment capital of 12.5 billion VND, construction started in early August and will be completed in October 2024. The project consists of 2 tram systems pulling 10 carriages, each carriage can accommodate 12 people; both trains can carry a maximum of 120 people at the same time.
“This is a project of great significance in improving working conditions in the mines, increasing labor productivity, wages and income for workers. With that in mind, the Company’s Trade Union has registered to undertake and put up a sign for the project,” said Mr. Nhuong.
During the construction process, all stages and tasks are carried out by the trade union departments in specialized departments, under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, in the spirit of emulation and creative labor, promoting initiatives, innovation, ensuring quality, exceeding progress but also ensuring absolute safety in construction and installation.
In which, the Transport Electromechanical Department Union, the Vertical Well Workshop Union, the Safety Department Union... coordinate to prepare the construction site, check the design documents, construction methods, construction progress schedule to construct, supervise to ensure safety and progress.
During the construction process, thanks to the direct attention and guidance of the Company's Trade Union, the careful preparation of necessary conditions for construction, and timely encouragement and rewards, the project was completed on schedule and the project's progress was shortened.
The completion of the project demonstrates the determination to successfully implement the resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on promoting the application of science, technology and engineering in production, improving working conditions for workers, contributing to increasing productivity and income for workers.
It is known that currently, many underground coal mining companies in Quang Ninh have invested in installing modern transportation systems to transport workers and laborers working underground.
