During the peak period of attacking, suppressing crime, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Traffic Police Team of Dong Hoi City Police (Quang Binh Province) has synchronously deployed professional measures, mobilizing maximum forces and means to maintain security, order and traffic safety in the area.
During the 30 days of peak implementation, the Traffic Police Team coordinated to organize 11 conferences to disseminate laws on traffic safety and order (TTATGT). The propaganda sessions attracted the participation of 7,345 teachers, students and people. Through propaganda, the police force directly mobilized people to strictly comply with regulations on fireworks, weapons, explosives, and supporting tools.
The Traffic Police Team voluntarily received from the people 4 boxes of 36 fireworks, 21 firecrackers; 2 swords, 2 machetes, 1 homemade knife; 3 grenades and 3 21mm bullets.
The Traffic Police Department has recorded 344 cases of traffic safety violations, with an estimated fine of more than 1.5 billion VND. Of these, 199 cases were for alcohol violations; 132 cases were for not having a driver's license; 10 cases were for carrying goods exceeding the weight limit; and 21 cases were for being underage.
Authorities have detained 246 vehicles, revoked driving licenses of 72 cases, and deducted driving license points of 34 cases.
In particular, the team handled 1 case of a minor driving a vehicle, causing disorder in an urban area, and coordinated with the Investigation Agency to handle 12 cases of disturbing public order and violating traffic safety regulations.
Since the implementation of administrative sanctions for traffic safety violations according to Decree No. 168 dated January 1, 2025, thanks to the smart urban monitoring system of Dong Hoi City, the Traffic Police Team has detected and sent notices to 30 cases of traffic safety violations.
Of these, 11 cars did not comply with traffic light signals. These cases were fined from 18-20 million VND and had 4 driving license points deducted.
Dong Hoi City Traffic Police Team said that since Decree 168 began to be applied, traffic light violations by people have decreased.
Compared to the same period last year, in Dong Hoi City, the number of cases has decreased from 38 to 11. This shows the effectiveness of Decree 168. The awareness of traffic participants has been raised.
