Ho Chi Minh City - From March 1st, Ho Chi Minh City will have 9 more electric bus routes operated by VinBus with 169 vehicles of 30 and 60 seats.

On February 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center announced that 9 bus routes: 32, 38, 45, 53, 64, 93, 127, 140 and 148 have been won by VinBus Ecological Transport Service Co., Ltd. (VinBus) in 2025.

According to the plan, VinBus will use 169 electric buses to serve passengers on these 9 routes. The vehicles include two main lines: VinFast EB 6 (about 30 seats) and VinFast EB 8 (about 60 seats), arranged flexibly depending on the specifics of each route and people's travel needs.

The addition of 9 electric bus routes is expected to contribute to improving the quality of public passenger transport services, reducing emissions and noise, and promoting the roadmap for transitioning to green transport in Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, VinBus operated 3 electric bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City, including: Route D4 (Vinhomes Grand Park - Saigon Bus Station); route 33 (An Suong Bus Station - Suoi Tien - Ho Chi Minh City National University); route 150 (Cho Lon Bus Station - New Mien Dong Bus Station).

After merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City currently has 179 bus routes, including 108 subsidized routes and 71 non-subsidized routes, with a total of 2,319 vehicles operating.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 47 electric bus routes with 627 vehicles and 18 routes using CNG gas fuel with 449 vehicles. The proportion of vehicles using environmentally friendly fuel accounts for 46.4% of the total number of buses in the city.

Ho Chi Minh City sets a target that by 2030, 100% of buses will use green and environmentally friendly energy.
