On the morning of November 20, Trung My Tay Ward Police had initial verification information about the reflection "Paying online fees but still being charged additional fees for residence registration" posted on Lao Dong Newspaper on November 18.
Initial verification information shows that there is a basis for people being charged extra money even though they previously paid the fee online when registering for residence.
The Trung My Tay Ward Police Command has requested that these employees not collect fees from people who have paid online fees through banks, and to immediately rectify this situation to better serve the people.
The leaders of Trung My Tay Ward Police and District 12 Police also thanked Lao Dong Newspaper for reporting the incident so that local police could know and take timely action.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Paying fees online still charged additional fees for residence registration", reflecting that many residents in Trung My Tay Ward, District 12, when coming to receive their residence registration results, were charged additional fees, even though they had paid the fee when completing the online procedure.
After Lao Dong Newspaper published the article, on the morning of November 19, the leader of Trung My Tay Ward Police directly went to the reception and return of records to check and request immediate correction.
On the morning of November 20, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters noted that the collection of additional money from people who paid fees online was no longer taking place. After registering their residence information and paying fees online, when coming to receive the results of their residence registration, they were enthusiastically guided by officials and did not have to pay any additional money.
Regulations on residence registration fee collection levels
On December 22, 2022, the Minister of Finance issued Circular 75/2022/TT-BTC regulating the collection rates, collection, payment and management of residence registration fees.
Circular 75/2022/TT-BTC, effective from February 5, 2023, stipulates as follows:
The fee for permanent residence registration is 20,000 VND/time for citizens submitting applications directly and 10,000 VND/time for citizens submitting applications online. The fee for temporary residence registration and extension of temporary residence for individuals and households is 15,000 VND/time for citizens submitting applications directly and 7,000 VND/time for citizens submitting applications online.
In case of temporary residence registration and temporary residence extension according to the list, the fee is 10,000 VND/person/time when submitting the application directly and 5,000 VND/person/time when submitting the application online. The fee when a citizen separates his/her household is 10,000 VND/time when submitting the application directly and 5,000 VND/time when submitting the application online.
