The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction is seeking opinions on the draft new regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the time and scope of operation of some types of vehicles transporting goods and passengers in the area.
According to the draft developed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, in addition to sleeper buses that have been restricted since 2023, passenger cars with more than 29 seats will also be restricted from operating in the central area.
Previously, from January 10, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City applied regulations prohibiting sleeper buses from circulating in the inner city from 6 am to 10 pm. The scope of restriction for passenger cars with more than 29 seats this time is proposed similarly to the existing sleeper bus restriction belt.
Vehicles subject to restrictions will not be allowed to circulate in the area inside the ring road including the roads: Do Muoi, Le Duc Anh, Le Kha Phieu, Nguyen Van Linh, Phu My bridge access road (overpass), Phu My bridge, Vo Chi Cong, Dong Van Cong, Mai Chi Tho, Vo Nguyen Giap, Hanoi Highway and return to Do Muoi road. Vehicles are allowed to run normally on these ring roads.
Passenger cars with over 29 seats and sleeper buses are allowed to circulate on some routes inside the belt to connect inter-provincial bus stations.
Vehicles are allowed to circulate on Kinh Duong Vuong street (An Lac ward), the section from Le Duc Anh street to Mien Tay Bus Station and vice versa.
Vehicles are also allowed to circulate on National Highway 13 (Hiep Binh ward), the section from Do Muoi street to Mien Dong Bus Station and vice versa.
According to the planned route, from January 1, 2028, the vehicle restriction belt will be adjusted including routes: Do Muoi, Le Duc Anh, Le Kha Phieu, Nguyen Van Linh, Phu My bridge approach road, Phu My bridge, Vo Chi Cong, Phu Huu bridge, D2 road, D1 road, Hanoi Highway and Do Muoi road.
