Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).
According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will give gifts to 7 groups of policy beneficiaries.
The highest gift level is 3 million VND/person, for 65 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.
The amount of 2.8 million VND/person was awarded to 114 people who are veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-insurrection cadres and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes during the resistance period who are receiving monthly allowances.
The level of 2.5 million VND/person is for 216 people who are war invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, type B war invalids and sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 81% or more, with particularly severe injuries or illnesses.
Relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving monthly survivor's allowance, including 20 people, will receive a gift of 2 million VND/person.
The amount of 1.5 million VND/person was awarded to 15,427 people, including people worshiping Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, People's Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes during the resistance period; wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and resistance activists infected with chemical toxins with a body injury rate of 81% or more; relatives of martyrs, people who nurtured martyrs and some other policy beneficiaries.
The group with the largest number with 123,183 people will receive a gift of 1 million VND/person. These are subjects such as people with meritorious services to helping the revolution; wounded soldiers, sick soldiers with a body injury rate of less than 81%; people who participated in the resistance war and were infected with chemical toxins less than 81%; children of martyrs; people worshiping martyrs; people who were arrested and imprisoned by the enemy; people who participated in the resistance war and were commended by the State and some other people with meritorious services.
In addition, 3,837 people who are biological children of resistance war activists infected with chemical toxins who are receiving monthly allowances and relatives who receive monthly death benefits of some people with meritorious services will receive a gift of 800,000 VND/person.
In addition to the above 7 groups of subjects, the Organization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will organize visits and gifts to 54 typical martyr families managed by the City Party Committee, with a total budget of 56.5 million VND. Among them, 5 wives and relatives of martyrs received 1.5 million VND/person, and 49 children of martyrs received 1 million VND/person.
The city also allocates 30 million VND to visit and give gifts to 30 wounded soldiers and relatives of main martyrs who are working at the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard and Ho Chi Minh City Police, but do not enjoy policies in the locality. Each case is given 1 million VND.
In addition, 40 city leadership delegations will visit 172 policy families in wards, communes and special zones. Each family is given a gift worth 5 million VND, including 2 million VND in kind and 3 million VND in cash.
