On July 13, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City organized a conference to deploy gratitude activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).
At the conference, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - said that through initial review, the whole city recorded 829 cases of people with meritorious services and policy families in need of support.

The care content focuses on practical and long-term solutions such as awarding savings books, livelihood means, scholarships, health insurance cards; building and repairing gratitude houses; restoring martyrs' photos; equipping wheelchairs, hearing aids; medical examination, medicine distribution and treatment cost support.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations, socio-political organizations at all levels strive to implement funding to take care of gratitude activities on the occasion of the 79th anniversary, which is more than 30 billion VND; 100% of living Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are supported and cared for; cases in difficult circumstances are reviewed and connected with resources to provide timely support.
At the same time, 100% of communes, wards, and special zones organize at least one activity to show gratitude or care for policy families and people with meritorious services.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized that caring for policy families and people with meritorious services is not only a political responsibility and obligation but also an order from the heart, a good tradition of the nation.
Caring work is not only material value but also the feelings and deep gratitude that the Party Committee, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and member organizations, and people from all walks of life give to those who have contributed to the country.
Mr. Loc requested units to develop specific care plans, ensuring clear targets, clear addresses, clear times and clear resources; fully and promptly implement policies, absolutely not to let errors occur.
Gratitude work is closely linked to taking care of housing, health, and education; repairing works commemorating martyrs; supervising the implementation of policies and organizing revolutionary tradition education activities, especially for the young generation.
At the same time, the city continues to expand the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains in localities with the highest and most urgent requirements.
At the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received many resources to accompany the gratitude work.
