Ho Chi Minh City pilots Public Administration Service Center from October 1

MINH QUÂN |

Ho Chi Minh City will pilot the Public Administration Service Center from October 1, aiming to improve the efficiency of administrative procedure settlement for people and businesses.

On the morning of September 27, the 18th session of the 10th term People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City approved the pilot establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Administration Service Center. The Center will operate on a pilot basis from October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.

The Ho Chi Minh City Public Administration Service Center will receive, process and control administrative procedures according to a one-stop, interconnected mechanism.

This is the city’s next step, inheriting the successes of the current “One-Stop Shop” model, aiming to professionalize the guidance, reception and return of administrative procedure results. At the same time, the center aims to digitize the process of handling records, creating more favorable conditions for people and businesses to access public services.

The pilot center also helps optimize the city's resources, reducing the number of separate one-stop departments in administrative agencies. Excess human resources will be reassigned to focus on other specialized tasks, thereby improving overall operational efficiency while saving infrastructure and operating costs.

The Ho Chi Minh City Public Administration Service Center is expected to bring many important benefits, such as:

Effective coordination: The Centre will be a powerful support tool for the direction and administration of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Convenience for people and businesses: Receiving and processing documents will be done at a single location, regardless of administrative boundaries, creating conditions for all people and businesses to access public services more easily.

Technology application: The Centre will promote the application of information technology in the process of receiving, digitizing and monitoring the settlement of administrative procedures. Sharing technology platforms and data will help avoid waste and increase consistency in management.

Increase citizen satisfaction: 100% of administrative procedures will be made public and transparent, allowing citizens and businesses to monitor and evaluate the processing. This will help increase satisfaction and trust in the city's public service system.

According to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, currently in the city there are 360 One-Stop Departments at departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, Thu Duc City, communes, wards, and towns and 5 One-Stop Departments of vertical agencies (including 1 Thu Duc City Public Administration Center).
