Ho Chi Minh City and Southern region increase thunderstorms in the next 3 days

The intertropical convergence zone maintaining the combination of stronger southwest monsoon activity will cause the South to increase thunderstorms in the days of August 5-7.

According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the weather pattern forecast for the next 24-48 hours, the intertropical convergence zone continues to be maintained with its axis passing through the Northern and North Central regions. The Southwest monsoon tends to gradually strengthen. Above, the subtropical high pressure with its axis passing through the Southern region will gradually recede to the East.

Weather pattern forecast from 3-10 days, the intertropical convergence zone through the North and North Central regions will move slowly to the North and gradually weaken. Southwest monsoon maintains intensity from medium to strong.

Above, the subtropical high pressure in the southern branch continues to retreat to the East, while lowering its axis to the South. Wind convergence in the Southern region operates more favorably, creating conditions to increase thunderstorms.

Therefore, from July 5-7,8, during the day, the Southern region is generally cloudy, with intermittent sunshine, and sun intensity decreases compared to previous days.

The highest temperature in the East is 31-34 degrees C, in some places above 34 degrees C. The West is 30-33 degrees C, in some places above 33 degrees C.

Rain mainly appears in the afternoon and evening, commonly light to moderate rain. The eastern region has scattered showers and thunderstorms with a probability of over 80%; the western region has light rain in some places, a probability of about 30-50%. Some localities, especially the northern areas of Dong Nai and Lam Dong, are likely to have moderate to heavy rain.

During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, localized heavy rain and strong gusts of wind, which can affect outdoor activities and traffic.
