In the central area, the Bon Xa intersection - the intersection of 6 routes Binh Long, Thoai Ngoc Hau, Hoa Binh, Phan Anh, Huong Lo 2 and Le Van Quoi - has long been considered a traffic jam "black spot".
According to the new plan, the city will build an overpass about 280 m long, 12 m wide, organized for two-way traffic in the direction of Le Van Quoi - Hoa Binh street (replacing the Thoai Ngoc Hau - Huong Lo 2 direction before). The total estimated investment is about 2,383 billion VND.

At the Dien Bien Phu intersection (formerly District 3 and District 10), where the Dien Bien Phu, Le Hong Phong, Ly Thai To, Ngo Gia Tu routes intersect, an overpass will be built along the Ly Thai To axis combined with branches to Le Hong Phong. The project has a total investment of more than 400 billion VND.

For the Nguyen Tri Phuong - Ngo Gia Tu - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection (District 5 and District 10 before), Ho Chi Minh City is also studying building overpasses worth about 400 billion VND.
At the eastern gateway, Ho Chi Minh City is deploying the Binh Thai intersection, the intersection between Vo Nguyen Giap street and Ring Road 2 of Ho Chi Minh City.
This is an item belonging to section 1 of the Ring Road 2 project. The intersection includes a steel overpass in the direction of Ring Road 2 across Vo Nguyen Giap street and underpasses on the parallel road.

Also on Ring Road 2, the city is building a 3-story intersection with Pham Van Dong street.
The 1st floor has two overpasses, including overpass No. 1 with two branches, 6 two-way lanes in the direction of Ring Road 2, overpassing Linh Dong, Pham Van Dong, Kha Van Can and Rach Ngang. Overpass No. 2 has 2 lanes, for vehicles turning left from Ring Road 2 down to Pham Van Dong towards Tan Son Nhat airport.
The 2-lane underpass serves the right turn direction from Pham Van Dong (airport direction) to the National Highway 1 - Go Dua intersection. In the next phase, this intersection will be supplemented with a 4-lane overpass for two-way vehicles going straight along the Pham Van Dong axis.

Ho Chi Minh City is also preparing to build the Go Cong intersection at the intersection between Ring Road 3 and Nguyen Xien street.
The project is designed as a 4-story grade-separated intersection, combined with a central roundabout and a system of branches (N1, N2, N3, N4), each branch with 2 lanes. On Ring Road 3, a 4-lane elevated bridge will be built.
In the completion phase, the project continues to invest in an underpass on the branch connecting from Hanoi Highway through Long Phuoc, connecting to Long Hung bridge (Dong Nai).

The National Highway 13 expansion project, expected to start construction this year, will build a two-way underpass at the Binh Loi bridge intersection and the Binh Phuoc intersection, helping vehicles on the main axis to circulate continuously.

At the western gateway, the National Highway 1 expansion project (section from Kinh Duong Vuong to the border of Tay Ninh province) will add a series of overpasses and underpasses.
At the intersection of National Highway 1 - Kinh Duong Vuong - Tran Dai Nghia, a 4-lane overpass will be built on National Highway 1 across Kinh Duong Vuong.

Binh Dien Bridge across the Cho Dem River currently has 2 bridges with a total of 6 lanes; in the near future, a new bridge will be built on the right side with a scale of 6 lanes.

Binh Thuan intersection - the intersection between National Highway 1, Nguyen Van Linh and the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway access road - will be built with 3 floors.
The basement includes two 4-lane two-way underpasses, allowing vehicles from Nguyen Van Linh to go straight through the expressway access road and vice versa. The ground organizes traffic by roundabout. The top floor is an overpass system including an existing 4-lane bridge and two newly built parallel bridges.
At the southern gateway, Ho Chi Minh City will complete two intersections: Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho and Nguyen Huu Tho - Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, belonging to the North - South axis upgrade project (Nguyen Huu Tho street).

Previously, the city spent 830 billion VND to build two two-way underpasses on Nguyen Van Linh street at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection, initially reducing traffic pressure in the Southern area.
