Road and sea bridge connecting Can Gio - Vung Tau
The road and sea bridge project connecting Can Gio with Vung Tau has a preliminary total investment of more than 104.400 billion VND in the form of BT (build - transfer). The project is expected to start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2029.
The route has a total length of more than 14 km. In which, the sea tunnel item is about 2.62 km long, cross-section 35 m wide, scale of 6 lanes. The submerged tunnel section is about 2.1 km long, applying technology similar to the Thu Thiem tunnel crossing the Saigon River.

In addition to the sea tunnel, the project also has nearly 7 km of approach bridges on both sides (about 4.47 km on Can Gio and 2.22 km on Vung Tau) and more than 4.4 km of connecting access roads.
The starting point of the route is on Bien Dong 2 road, belonging to Can Gio sea encroachment urban area; the ending point connects to Mai Sao - Ben Dinh route, intersecting with 30. 4 road in Vung Tau.

When completed, this sea-crossing route will form a direct coastal connection axis between Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau, shortening the travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to just over 60 minutes.
The project is expected to create breakthroughs for Can Gio Sea Tourism Area, Long Son Industrial Park, increase the exploitation capacity of Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster, and reduce the load on National Highway 51 and existing axes, promoting socio-economic development in the Southeast region.
Cau Thu Thiem 4
The Thu Thiem 4 Bridge project is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The project is about 2.16 km long, of which the bridge section is more than 1.6 km long, designed with 8 lanes (6 motorized lanes, 2 mixed lanes), and a navigation clearance of 15 m.

The starting point is on Nguyen Van Linh street (Tan Thuan 2 bridge intersection area), the ending point connects Nguyen Co Thach street - North - South axis of Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
The total estimated investment is about 5,063 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget, divided into 2 component projects.
Compensation, support, and resettlement costs are about 1,385 billion VND, recovering 16.7 hectares of land, affecting 136 cases (14 organizations, 122 households), with 73 cases completely cleared. Bridge construction and installation costs are about 3,678 billion VND.

When put into operation, Thu Thiem 4 bridge will significantly shorten the distance from the East area (Thu Duc City, Binh Thanh before) to the South area (Districts 7, 8, Nha Be, Binh Chanh before).
At the same time, the project helps reduce pressure on the Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Khanh Hoi bridge and many key intersections in the South.
The project also creates more motivation for the development of Thu Thiem New Urban Area, increasing investment, trade, service and tourism attraction for both the central and southern areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
Binh Tien Bridge and Road
The Binh Tien Bridge and Road Project (section from Pham Van Chi street to Nguyen Van Linh street) is expected to start construction in 2026 and be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
The project has a total capital of nearly 6,300 billion VND, including 2 component projects. Of which, compensation, support and resettlement costs are more than 3,369 billion VND, recovering about 21.27 hectares of land, affecting 389 households. The construction and installation part has a capital of more than 2,915 billion VND.

The route is about 3.66 km long, starting from the Binh Tien - Pham Van Chi intersection (Binh Tien ward) and ending at the intersection with Nguyen Van Linh street (Binh Hung commune).
Binh Tien bridge and road includes an elevated road section about 3.1 km long, with a scale of 4 - 6 lanes, crossing the Tau Hu canal, Doi canal and crossing Nguyen Van Linh road to connect with the National Highway 50 connecting route. Below is a parallel road system from 2 - 6 lanes.
Currently, connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with the South mainly depends on axes such as Nguyen Huu Tho, Duong Ba Trac, Pham Hung, National Highway 50... which are often overloaded, especially during peak hours and holidays and Tet.
When completed, Binh Tien bridge and road will share traffic for existing routes, strengthen connectivity to South Saigon and Hiep Phuoc areas, and create an important inter-connection axis with Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 routes in the future.
