On February 13, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hung - Director of the General Service Center of Dong Hoi ward (Quang Tri province) said that in the Quach Xuan Ky street area, through inspection, it was determined that there was an act of arbitrarily drawing umbrellas and collecting money as reported by the newspaper.
According to Mr. Hung, the deposit collection of Mr. Le Manh Long is related to 7 business households with a total amount of 7 million VND. After the press reflected, the center requested the full refund of this amount to the business households. Up to now, the money has been refunded, and the parties have committed not to repeat the similar situation.
For the Me Suot street area (in front of Dong Hoi market), market representatives said that the amount of 1 million VND was collected in the inner yard area, not the sidewalk. The fee collection is based on the regulations of the Provincial People's Committee on managing service locations to support people doing business, with a level of 50,000 VND/m2.
On average, each household uses about 18m2, plus electricity, water and environmental sanitation costs, the total cost is about 1 million VND. All revenues have value-added invoices according to regulations.
Previously, social networks appeared information reflecting the collection of 1 million VND for each square of more than 1 meter long on the sidewalk of Me Suot street for Tet trading, causing public uproar. Records of Lao Dong Newspaper show that paint lines dividing squares and numbering have appeared in this area, many traders said they have paid money in the above form.
