On April 17, the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 2 coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize a ceremony to announce the decision and award the Certificate of Merit to the relatives of martyr Do Tung Linh, a Navy officer who died while on duty at sea.
Martyr Do Tung Linh was born on April 15, 1989 in Ky Phu commune (Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province). He enlisted in September 2008 and has served in the Army for more than 15 years, serving in many different positions.
Before his sacrifice, Captain Do Tung Linh was the Party Cell Secretary and Political Commissar of Ship 214, Naval Region 2. During his working process, Captain Do Tung Linh has always excellently completed all assigned tasks.
Captain Do Tung Linh heroically sacrificed himself on December 16, 2023 while performing a national defense and security mission at sea, in the DK1 Ship House area, in the waters of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
To recognize the merits and heroic sacrifices of Captain Do Tung Linh for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, on February 26, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 437/QD-TTg on granting the Certificate of Merit to President Do Tung Linh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Quang - Deputy Head of Political Region 2 Navy shared the pain and loss of relatives and families of martyrs Do Tung Linh. At the same time, this is an activity that shows affection and responsibility before the dedication and sacrifice of martyrs and families for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
