The project connecting National Highway 32 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (IC 15) has a total main route length of 43.5 km. The project is implemented in 4 communes of Van Yen district and Gia Hoi commune of Van Chan district (Yen Bai).
The project includes 6 construction packages, with a total contract value of over 400 billion VND. By the end of April 2025, the implementation value is estimated at 68.6%.
According to the design, the route is of a grade IV mountainous scale with a total length of 43.5km connecting from the western districts to the eastern part of Yen Bai.
After completion, the route is expected to create conditions to promote tourism potential of the mountainous districts of Tram Tau, Nghia Lo, Mu Cang Chai.
The representative of the construction unit said that the company's bidding package had previously been completed but due to the circulation of the storm No. 3 causing the erosion of Taluy Duong, the contractor had to clean up and make a stone to ensure the structure of the road surface was completed 90%. The unit strives to construct the holidays to hand over to the investor.
In particular, on April 30 - May 1, contractors deployed 10 construction teams simultaneously, mobilized 14 excavators and an average of 60 workers to deploy along the route. Workers working during holidays will have increased income according to regulations.
Talking to Lao Dong, the leader of Phong Du Thuong commune, Van Yen district said: "The government and people of Phong Du Thuong and Phong Du Ha communes really hope that the project will be accelerated so that the road can be completed soon. Previously, the construction process was slow, the unfinished project made it very difficult for people to travel, especially during the rainy season".
According to the reporter's records, the project is currently entering the final stages of completion. Engineers, workers and machinery are operating at full capacity to speed up progress, ensure quality and labor safety. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
