On July 7, according to reporters' records, the new administrative headquarters of Sa Pa ward (formerly Sa Pa town) on Dien Bien Phu street is being accelerated in construction progress, aiming to complete and put into use in 2026.
The project is located on a hilltop in the Northwest Sub-area, a location planned to become the new administrative center of the locality. Around this area, many rows of adjacent houses and technical infrastructure are also being completed simultaneously.
According to observations, the building has basically completed the rough construction, and the shape of the project is gradually becoming clearer. Inside, some workers are focusing on constructing completion items such as technical systems, interiors and functional rooms.

Through investigation, the Sa Pa ward administrative agency headquarters project has a total investment of 197.8 billion VND from the provincial budget. The investor is the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Construction, and the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is the representative unit of the investor.
The project is designed in a modern architectural style with 6 above-ground floors, 1 basement, a construction area of more than 5,100 m2 and a total floor area of about 14,600 m2.
The basement is arranged with a parking area and technical systems. Floors 1 to 5 are office spaces, meeting rooms and seminar rooms for administrative agencies; floor 6 is used as a warehouse for storing records and documents.
This is one of the key projects of Lao Cai province in the period 2020 - 2023.

The implementation process faced many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, fluctuations in construction material prices, site clearance obstacles and specific weather conditions in Sa Pa, causing progress to be affected at many times.
After completion, the new headquarters will meet the working needs of cadres, civil servants, and public employees; and at the same time create more favorable conditions for coordination between state management agencies.
For people, the concentration of administrative agencies at one location is expected to help access information and carry out administrative procedures quickly and conveniently.
The project is also expected to become an architectural highlight of the new administrative area, in line with Sa Pa urban development planning.
According to the orientation of Lao Cai province, after agencies move to new headquarters, the entire existing administrative area in the center of Sa Pa ward will be prioritized for conversion into public spaces and squares serving people instead of developing commercial and service projects.

Ms. Le Thi Huong (resident of Sa Pa ward) commented that the new headquarters has a beautiful design, spacious scale, suitable for the appearance of a tourist city.
People all hope the project will be completed soon so that agencies can transfer it to work, contributing to improving service quality and creating more highlights for the area," Ms. Huong said.
Leaders of Sa Pa Ward People's Committee said that the locality plans to move the entire operation of the administrative area to the new headquarters by the end of 2026.
In parallel with that, the province will implement detailed planning of the old headquarters area to form a community living space, contributing to expanding public space for Sa Pa tourist city.
