Crowds stretching towards the central area
Recorded at 7 pm, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area was already crowded. Many groups of young people, families with young children and tourists gathered along both sides of the road, choosing convenient locations to enjoy the special art program "Vietnam is proud to stand firm" and wait until 9 pm to watch fireworks.
On the pedestrian street, the atmosphere of celebrating National Day September 2nd was vibrant. Many people wore red and yellow star shirts, carrying national flags, creating a brilliant scene in the city center.
As evening approached, the flow of people pouring into the central area - where National Day 2/9 events took place - became more and more crowded. Along Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang, Le Loi streets and Lam Son Square area, the flow of vehicles moved slowly due to the increased number of people. At some intersections, functional forces were on duty, organizing traffic diversion, guiding people to move, limiting congestion.
In the Bach Dang wharf area, many people take advantage of being present early, sitting along the riverside park to "room up". Locations with views towards the Saigon River are quickly filled. Many families prepare drinking water, snacks and sheets to rest during the waiting time.
Bringing her two young children from Thu Duc ward to the city center, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang said that her family had proactively taken the metro and arrived at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street from about 6 pm.
National Day, so I want to bring my children here to feel the bustling atmosphere and watch fireworks. Although it is still quite a long time until the performance time, the central area is already very crowded. The children are very excited to watch art performances, hold flags and join in the crowd," Ms. Hang shared.
Eagerly waiting for the moment of fireworks shining brightly
Not only families, many groups of young people also chose Nguyen Hue pedestrian street as a place to have fun on the last night of the holiday. Taking advantage of the time waiting for fireworks, many people took souvenir photos in front of the brightly decorated buildings, enjoyed art programs and strolled around the central area.
Present at Bach Dang wharf with a group of friends, Mr. Tran Minh Quan, residing in Binh Thanh ward, said that the whole group arrived from after 6:30 pm to find a convenient location.
“We have seen the information in advance and determined that this area will be very crowded, so we proactively went early. The atmosphere this year is very cheerful, from adults to children are all excited. Even if we have to wait for many hours, everyone still finds it worth it because this is a special occasion,” Mr. Quan said.
According to records, by about 8 pm, many areas near the riverbank, squares and roads with clear views were almost empty.
The fireworks display program on National Day September 2 will take place from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM on September 2 at 7 locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
3 high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks locations include: the area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (An Khanh ward), the New City Center (Binh Duong ward) and Tam Thang Tower Square (Vung Tau ward).
4 low-altitude fireworks display locations are arranged at Ba Ria Square Park (Ba Ria ward), Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi ward), Saigon Marina IFC tower (Sai Gon ward) and Kim Long Villa Area, Rach Dia bridge area (Nha Be commune).
