On May 9, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper said that the authorities of Dak Lak province are clarifying a number of issues related to the State debt to be collected at Dak Lak Water Supply and Construction Investment Company Limited (Dakwaco), arising in the process of operation in recent years.
According to the decision approving the 2018 Dakwaco equitization plan issued by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the State holds 36% of shares; the private enterprise sector owns more than 58%.
The source also said that the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has met to discuss and agree to transfer the case related to financial problems in the process of equitizing Dakwaco to the Provincial Police for consideration and handling according to legal regulations.
The Dakwaco equitization Steering Committee is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance and relevant units to review and prepare a comprehensive report on all financial problems. All relevant documents and records will be sent to the Provincial Police.
The Provincial People's Committee also noted that this is to serve as a basis for the police to carry out procedures according to regulations. The Steering Committee for Equipment Management needs to base on the 2015 Criminal Procedure Code and related legal documents to determine. It clearly states the factors, signs and violations of related organizations and individuals.
The Provincial Police will preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Steering Committee for Equipping and Equipping Dakwaco's equitization and related units to handle the case based on the reports and records received.
Regarding the content of the continuous increase in domestic water prices in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dakwaco spends free water pipeline infrastructure, the leader of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee said that these issues have many legal relationships that need to be resolved.
Regarding economic legal relations, the Provincial People's Committee has responded. For other related issues, the Provincial Party Committee has directed competent agencies to report on the direction of final settlement.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had many articles reflecting that in the past 3 years, the price of domestic water in Buon Ma Thuot city has continuously increased, causing frustration among people.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Finance, Dak Lak Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dakwaco) is no longer buying water from outside. Therefore, the Department of Finance proposes that Dakwaco excluding 8.3% of the price of clean water from the previously issued price structure.
However, in reality, from the beginning of 2024 until now, many households in Buon Ma Thuot city still have to pay for water at the old price, not excluding the cost of buying water outside as unreasonable.
In addition, Dakwaco is using and operating many water pipeline projects and infrastructure invested by the State for free to do business and make a profit. These items have not been added to the equitization plan to increase the proportion of State capital contribution in enterprises (still at 36%).
