At about 4:15 PM on January 4, 2026, at Km42+400 of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway in Hai Van ward, Da Nang city, a chain collision occurred between 10 vehicles.
According to initial information, 1 truck traveling in the North - South direction braked suddenly when it reached the above location, causing 9 cars and 1 small truck behind to not be able to handle it in time, leading to continuous collisions.
The accident did not cause any casualties, but all vehicles were damaged.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the road management unit coordinated with functional forces to organize regulation, ensure traffic safety and order, and allow vehicles to travel slowly in one direction through the area. Up to now, traffic has returned to normal.
According to records, at the time of the collision, the system of signs and road markings in the area was complete and effective; the road surface was dry, without adverse weather factors. This section of the route has been handed over to the upgrade and expansion project from June 1, 2025.
