HCMC - Electric buses have been operating in Con Dao special zone since December 25 to serve people and tourists.

On December 24, the Public Transport Management Center (HCMC Department of Construction) announced that it will officially put into operation the 173 electric bus route connecting Con Dao Center - Co Ong Airport (also known as Con Dao Airport) from December 25.

The 173 electric bus route is of special significance as the first public bus route operating in the area; gradually limiting the use of personal vehicles, reducing traffic pressure and protecting the unique ecological landscape of Con Dao. Thereby, affirming Ho Chi Minh City's strong commitment to implementing the Net Zero goal, bringing practical values to sustainable development.

According to the schedule, the 173 electric bus route in Con Dao special zone will pass through 39 stops to pick up and drop off passengers on the route from Co Ong airport to Con Dao market.

In the coming time, the Public Transport Management Center will continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to put 5 more bus routes into operation, including routes 174, 175, 176, 177 and 178. When these routes are deployed synchronously, the public passenger transport network will cover over 90% of Con Dao's important locations, effectively serving daily travel needs, contributing to building the image of Con Dao as civilized, green - clean - friendly and sustainable.
