In early June, many sections of the Hanoi Ring Road 2.5 project are being accelerated with the expectation of putting the road into operation soon, reducing inner-city traffic pressure and creating motivation for socio-economic development.
After many years of implementation facing difficulties in capital and site clearance, the project is entering an acceleration phase. The road plays a role in connecting Ring Road 2 with Ring Road 3, contributing to completing the capital's framework traffic network.
According to the plan, Ring Road 2.5 is about 19.64km long, starting from Ciputra urban area and ending at Ring Road 3 intersection near Thanh Tri bridge, passing through many wards such as Xuan Dinh, Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Dinh Cong, Hoang Mai and Linh Nam. The entire route is divided into 13 investment sections.

In Xuan Dinh ward, site clearance is being promoted. According to the Ward Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, the locality has completed investigation, measurement, inventory and developed a compensation and resettlement support plan for all 54 affected cases.
In the western area of the city, the sections Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe, Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung and Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai are gradually taking shape after the groundbreaking ceremony on March 20, 2026.
In which, the Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung section 600m long passing through Trung Kinh Ha residential area (Yen Hoa ward) is being focused on site clearance. The project recovers more than 30,600m2 of land, affecting 369 households and organizations. Local authorities are speeding up procedures to soon hand over clean ground to the construction unit.
At the Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai section, about 950m long, site clearance is basically completed. More than 39,000m2 of land has been handed over to the investor to implement technical infrastructure items.
After the works on the route were dismantled, the appearance of the area has changed significantly. Many locations have gathered machinery and materials; workers are constructing drainage systems, underground technical infrastructure and auxiliary items.

The Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong section in Khuong Dinh ward is considered one of the land clearance hotspots of the entire project. The project has a cross-section of 50m, with a total investment of more than 2,432 billion VND. To implement the project, the locality must recover more than 60,900m2 of land from 736 cases, including 16 organizations and 720 households and individuals.
Despite the large workload, many areas have been handed over to contractors for construction. People expect the project to be completed and contribute to reducing congestion on Nguyen Trai, Khuong Dinh, Khuong Ha and Dam Hong areas.
Meanwhile, the Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section, about 2km long, after being technically opened in early 2026, is now basically completed. The road has a cross-section of 40m, a scale of 6 lanes, sidewalks, green trees, lighting and drainage are being synchronously completed. When put into operation, this section will contribute to reducing the load on the Giai Phong, Kim Giang, Nguyen Xien axes and the southern gateway of the city.
However, the National Highway 1A - Linh Nam section, especially the Linh Nam - Ring Road 3 section, still faces many difficulties due to site clearance problems. Many existing civil works and technical infrastructure have not been relocated, affecting the construction progress.
This is the final section of Ring Road 2.5 before connecting with Ring Road 3 and Thanh Tri bridge area. Therefore, removing obstacles in Linh Nam area is considered a key factor to close the entire route, promoting the traffic connection efficiency of the project in the coming time.
