The campaign aims to call on the community to raise environmental awareness and join hands to reduce air pollution in the capital.
The launching ceremony was attended by leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee, representatives of ministries, departments, sectors, socio-political organizations and the business community operating in the capital.
This is an urgent action in the context of Hanoi's air quality often being at the worst level in the world, with the high rate of fine dust affecting people's health.
Speaking at the program launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup - said: "The effort to restore the purity of the capital's sky is not the responsibility of any one person, but a call from the heart, requiring the cooperation of the whole community, from management agencies to businesses, social organizations and each individual living, studying and working in Hanoi. I believe that, with the determination and solidarity of the whole community, the campaign "For a green capital" will be successful, bringing cleaner air and a safer living environment to the people of Hanoi".
The campaign “For a green capital” is the next activity of the program “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a green future” being initiated by Vingroup Corporation on a national scale with many outstanding incentives for users of green means of transport.
After 6 months of launching, the program "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future" has received strong response from many localities, organizations, businesses and especially the support of people nationwide, creating a positive effect spreading throughout the community.
According to a report by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, traffic is identified as the largest source of emissions, accounting for up to 70% of urban pollution emissions.
With the responsibility of a business operating in the capital and operating a complete electric vehicle ecosystem, Vingroup Corporation decided to launch the campaign "For a green capital" to call on the whole community to take action to regain the blue sky for the capital, especially to reduce emissions in the transportation sector.
Accordingly, from January 10, 2025, Vingroup and companies in the green mobility ecosystem including VinFast, VinBus, GSM, and FGF will simultaneously implement many meaningful support activities and policies for customers who buy, rent, and use electric vehicles every day.
VinFast supports up to 70 million VND for all customers who buy electric cars and register license plates in Hanoi from January 10, 2025 to January 31, 2026.
The specific support level will correspond to each vehicle model and the form of purchasing a vehicle with a battery or renting a battery, ranging from 3.6 million VND (for VF 3 vehicles renting a battery) to 70 million VND (for VF 9 vehicles buying a battery).
For customers buying electric motorbikes and electric bicycles, the support level will range from VND 500,000 (for Evo200 battery rental) to VND 3,000,000 (for Theon S battery purchase).
The support amount from VinFast for the above vehicles will be converted into VinClub points for customers to use services at all member units of Vingroup Corporation, and will be paid after customers complete the license plate registration procedure.
For customers choosing to use public transport in Hanoi, VinBus will support 50% of the ticket price for all customers buying single-route monthly tickets on VinBus routes from February 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026.
GSM will also launch membership packages specifically for the Hanoi area, with 365-day promotional codes for both Xanh SM Taxi and Xanh SM Bike services with destinations in Hanoi.
Meanwhile, FGF will directly offer car rental discounts and points for customers who rent cars for a short term and receive them in Hanoi from January 15, 2025 until further notice. Customers who buy used cars through FGF will also enjoy the same support level as VinFast's policy for each car model.
