Vinh Long organizes sampling of martyrs' remains at Ben Tre Martyrs' Cemetery (Phu Tan ward) to serve DNA testing and identify martyrs.

On August 4, at Ben Tre Martyrs' Cemetery (Phu Tan ward), Steering Committee 515 of Vinh Long province held a spiritual ceremony before taking samples and handing over samples of martyrs' remains for DNA testing, identifying unidentified martyrs.

Attending were Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of the province; members of Steering Committee 515 of the province; representatives of Phu Tan ward leaders and military forces, police, veterans and related units.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland. After the ceremony, specialized forces took biological samples according to technical procedures, ensuring accuracy, science and solemnity at the cemetery.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 515, Ben Tre Martyrs' Cemetery currently has 620 unidentified martyrs' graves. Information about the location of graves, tombstones, biological samples and related records are digitized right at the scene to serve storage, handover and DNA testing.

The activity is part of the "500-day and night campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains". Vinh Long province sets a goal to complete the sampling on schedule, contributing to early identification of martyrs' identities, meeting the expectations of relatives and expressing the nation's "When drinking water, remember the source" morality.
