Recently, information has been spreading on social networks about dike breaks in some localities in Phu Tho and Quang Ninh , causing flooding and heavy damage, making people panic.
Speaking to Lao Dong reporter about this issue, a representative of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention confirmed that the above information is false. This unit said that the information about the dike breaking in Yen Lap district (Phu Tho) is incorrect because this district does not have a dike.
Regarding the news in Tien Yen (Quang Ninh), this is not a reservoir but a dam on the river, so the amount of water stored is not much and currently the water is gradually receding.
Information from the office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense stated that due to the influence of storm No. 3, there was rain in Tien Yen district. The total rainfall from September 6 to 9:00 a.m. on September 9 was 166.8 million (data provided by the Quang Ninh province hydrometeorological station).
Due to rain, the left shoulder of the Ha Thanh irrigation project (Dong Hai commune) was broken about 50m; water from the project affected about 400 households in three villages: Ha Trang Dong, Ha Trang Tay, Na Bac. The water level was 1-1.5m. Tien Yen district People's Committee evacuated affected households to a safe place from the morning of September 9, 2024 (no human casualties).

The working group of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has arrived at the scene and is waiting for the water to recede to approach the incident area.
