Regarding the article reflecting "Parking in front of a hospital gate in Hanoi, staff collect double the listed price" conducted by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Cua Nam Ward Police (Hanoi) said that the unit has assigned forces to verify and strictly handle violations (if any).
We have made the owners and staff of parking lots commit many times, and even fined them already. Our point of view is that collecting higher than the listed ticket price is wrong and will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law. After having the verification results, we will inform Lao Dong Newspaper," said the leader of Cua Nam Ward Police.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, many people reflected that when parking motorbikes at a parking lot on Trieu Quoc Dat street (Cua Nam ward, Hanoi), they were charged 10,000 VND/turn, twice the listed price. Records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters show that this reflection is well-founded.
In many days of actual recording, at the parking lot licensed by Cua Nam Ward People's Committee for Tuyet Tung Trading and Service Co., Ltd. to operate on the sidewalk of Trieu Quoc Dat street (referred to as Tuyet Tung Company - PV), right in front of the gate of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. This is a parking lot with a large number of vehicles entering and leaving every day, mainly for patients' families and people coming for medical examination.
Every time there are customers parking, the staff announces a fee of 10,000 VND/turn, double the price of 5,000 VND listed at the parking lot. After the parking customer pays in cash, the staff issue tickets.
For customers who paid by bank transfer, the staff instructed them to transfer money to a personal account and said that the QR code printed on the ticket was no longer used. However, when reporters scanned this QR code, the system still displayed a fee of 5,000 VND and the money receiving account was from Tuyet Tung Company.
PV contacted the hotline recorded on the listing board, at the beginning of the line, a person claiming to be the legal representative of Tuyet Tung Company - Mr. Tran Van Cu said that the unit has listed ticket prices and printed tickets with QR codes for people to pay, the daytime motorbike parking price is 5,000 VND. Employees collecting 10,000 VND is wrong, the unit will check.
If there are violations in the inspection, we will have a form of handling, either reduction of bonuses or more severely, dismissal," Mr. Tran Van Cu said.
At another parking lot on Hai Ba Trung street, also located next to the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that the parking lot was licensed to operate by the Cua Nam Ward People's Committee but did not list service prices according to regulations. When parking motorbikes during the day, customers are informed by staff of a fee of 10,000 VND/turn.
The ticket holder given to the customer does not show the name of the parking unit as well as the service price. With the form of bank transfer payment, the staff continues to guide the customer to transfer money to a personal account.
