Hanoi - After the case of many students of Hoa Sen Kindergarten being hospitalized suspected of digestive disorders, the school has welcomed children back but has not organized semi-boarding meals.

Lao Dong Newspaper's records on July 10 show that Hoa Sen Kindergarten has welcomed children back to school during the summer after general cleaning, disinfecting classrooms and toys. However, the school has not yet organized semi-boarding meals.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (resident of Hoai Duc commune, Hanoi) said that when he came to pick up his grandchild, he noticed that the number of students going to school was quite small.

My child is in 3rd grade. On the evening of July 7, after returning from school, he vomited and had abdominal pain, so the family took him to Hoai Duc General Hospital for treatment. In the afternoon of July 9, he was allowed to go home, but in the evening of the same day, he continued to have abdominal pain, so he had to return to the hospital. By noon on July 10, he removed the IV needle to be discharged from the hospital. Because the family was small and both parents had to go to work, he had to be sent to school this afternoon," Mr. Tien shared.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Duy Tu (resident of Hoai Duc commune) said that his child also developed severe vomiting after returning from school on July 7. Worried about the child's developments, the family took the child to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.

After three days of treatment, my child's health has stabilized and he has been discharged from the hospital. Although the school has announced the return of the child, the family still decided to leave the child at home for a few more days to continue monitoring his health," Mr. Tu said.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper on July 10, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Loc - Vice Principal of Hoa Sen Kindergarten said that there are still some students being treated at the hospital, some children have been treated stably and discharged from the hospital.

Regarding the information that some parents reflected that the number of children hospitalized after meals could be up to about 50 children, instead of 22 children as previously provided by the school, Ms. Loc said: "I cannot answer this content because I have not been authorized by the principal to speak".

Regarding the food supplier for Hoa Sen Kindergarten, Ms. Do Thi Hoa Dinh - Deputy Head of the Culture - Society Department of Hoai Duc Commune People's Committee - said that functional agencies are still waiting for the results of food sample testing, so there is no official conclusion yet.

When there are results, the Commune People's Committee will be public and transparent in accordance with regulations," Ms. Dinh informed.

According to Notice No. 217/TB-UBND dated August 22, 2025 of Hoai Duc Commune People's Committee on the results of assessing the capacity of units providing food, food ingredients, ready-to-eat meals and drinking water for public educational institutions in the area in the 2025 - 2026 school year, 24 units participated in the assessment.

Based on the results of dossier appraisal and actual survey of the capacity assessment team established under Decision No. 319/QD-UBND dated August 13, 2025, Hoai Duc Commune People's Committee determined that 20 units met the requirements, 3 units did not meet and 1 unit was not evaluated.

Before the incident of dozens of Hoa Sen Kindergarten students being hospitalized, public opinion is waiting for functional agencies to soon verify and clarify the cause, and at the same time determine the responsibility of relevant organizations and individuals if violations are detected.
