On April 17, information from the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection said that the violator in the case of the Con Dao National Park Special-Use Forest Ranger Department administratively sanctioning and confiscating 42 yellow apricot trees has complied with the sanctioning decision.
The previous inspection of Con Dao National Park was carried out on the basis of detecting signs of violations in the forest area and information from the people.
At the same time, functional agencies recommend that people's acts of illegally exploiting forest products, including forest trees, to make ornamental plants are prohibited according to the provisions of law. In case people, flower gardens, orchards are owning, using, caring for, buying and selling plants, ornamental plants, and bonsai trees not exploited from natural forests, they are not within the scope of regulation of the law on forestry.
Previously, during forest protection patrols, the Forest Ranger Stations of the Con Dao National Park Special-Use Forest Ranger Station discovered some forest areas showing signs of some ornamental plants such as forest apricot blossoms, white lộc, thiết mộc lan... being dug up, uprooted, sawn off and reported the situation.
On April 2, the inter-sectoral inspection team conducted an inspection and discovered that Mr. D. V. T was storing and taking care of 42 yellow apricot trees, which this person confessed to buying from the mainland to Con Dao but without legal records. Therefore, the force made a record of administrative violation. After that, issued a decision to sanction and confiscate forest products against Mr. D. V. T.
On April 16, Mr. D. V. T submitted an additional explanation acknowledging the violation, along with confirmation that he had paid the fine according to regulations; along with a number of documents confirming the care of 21 apricot trees and transportation from the mainland to Con Dao. On that basis, the Con Dao National Park Special-Use Forest Ranger Department considered adjusting, only confiscating forest products that Mr. D. V. T could not prove the origin, which were 21 yellow apricot trees.
In the process of resolving the case, the Special-use Forest Protection Department of Con Dao National Park has worked with Mr. D. V. T many times, and by professional measures, it has been proven that many yellow apricot trees are forest apricot trees exploited from Con Dao natural forest.
