On the morning of August 4, Ship 637 and Boat 2203, Brigade 127, Command of Naval Region 5 continued to coordinate with An Thoi Port Border Guard Station (An Giang Provincial Border Guard) and fishermen's boats to search for 2 fishermen suspected of falling into the sea in Phu Quoc sea area.
Accordingly, at about 8:05 am on the same day, the search force discovered a body in the area about 3.7 nautical miles southwest of Mui Dat Do (Phu Quoc island). According to initial information, the body is suspected to be the owner of the vehicle and captain of fishing vessel AG 62009 TS.
After the discovery, the forces coordinated to bring the body ashore and hand it over to functional agencies for verification and clarification.
Currently, Ship 637 and Boat 2203 continue to coordinate with An Thoi Port Border Guard Station and fishermen's fishing boats to urgently search for the remaining fishermen.
Previously, on the afternoon of August 3, the Command of Naval Region 5 received a notice from the An Thoi Port Border Guard Station about fishing vessel AG 62009 TS running in a circle in the area about 2.7 nautical miles southwest of Mui Dat Do (Phu Quoc Island) but without an operator.
Immediately after receiving the information, Naval Region 5 mobilized Boat 2203 to maneuver to the scene; and at the same time mobilized Boat 637, which was performing a mission at sea, to quickly approach the search area.
By the evening of August 3, Naval Region 5 continued to coordinate with An Thoi Port Border Guard Station and about 20 fishing boats operating in the area to urgently search for 2 fishermen suspected of falling into the sea.
