On December 31, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province said that he had coordinated with localities to work with Project Management Board (PMU) 2 and PMU 85 (under the Ministry of Transport) on repairing damaged road surfaces due to the construction of the North-South Expressway project, phase 2021-2025.
"After working with them, the investor (Project Management Board 2, 85) said they would repair and ensure traffic on routes with damaged road surfaces due to highway construction; however, they did not clearly state the repair schedule, only saying they would wait for the sun to shine, making the localities very upset.
The Department and localities have continuously requested contractors to repair damaged road surfaces so that people can enjoy Tet, but these units have been slow to fix the problem, very procrastinating, citing the rain as an excuse so they cannot do it yet. The Department is consulting on documents for the province to propose to the Ministry of Transport for direction on how to handle it," he said.
According to the leader of the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, through actual inspection, the road surface in many locations on Provincial Road 629 through Hoai An district and residential roads through An Nhon town have been "plowed" by vehicles carrying construction materials for the expressway for a long time, causing serious damage, potholes appearing, causing danger to traffic participants.
At the 20th session of the 13th Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council (term 2021-2026), Mr. Le Thanh Tung - Chairman of An Nhon Town People's Committee also spoke about this situation.
"Many roads used for transporting construction materials for the expressway project through An Nhon town have been damaged and seriously degraded, causing frustration among residents along these roads. I propose that when the expressway is completed, the damaged residential roads must be restored," Mr. Tung reflected.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that from the beginning of the project implementation, the province worked with and requested Project Management Board 2, 85 to carry out the restoration of traffic routes, ensuring traffic safety and order, environment...
"The province will continue to direct departments and branches and inspect each damaged location on local roads; at the same time, work with Project Management Board 2, 85 and make recommendations to the Ministry of Transport to resolve arising issues," said Mr. Hoang.
