On the morning of February 12, a sleeper bus carrying 34 people traveling on National Highway 1, passing through Hoa Xuan area (formerly Phu Yen), suddenly caught fire fiercely.
The incident did not cause any casualties, but the vehicle was completely burned down.
According to initial information, at about 2 am on the same day, a sleeper bus with Ho Chi Minh City license plate was traveling on National Highway 1 in the direction of the northern provinces.
When just passing the Deo Ca tunnel toll station, belonging to Phu Khe 2 village, Hoa Xuan commune, the vehicle suddenly smoked and quickly caught fire.

Detecting the incident, the driver immediately shouted for passengers to get out of the car, and tried to move their luggage and called on people to help put out the fire.
However, the fire spread quickly, rising high with many loud explosions, causing initial control to fail.
A black column of smoke rose tens of meters high, causing vehicles passing through the area to stop from afar. Traffic on National Highway 1 was congested for about 3km. Upon receiving the news, functional forces quickly arrived at the scene, organized firefighting and traffic diversion.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
