Social networks are buzzing with a clip recording a traffic accident scene in Thai Nguyen.
According to the post, a truck with license plate 20C - 26136 recklessly overtook and knocked down 2 female students riding electric bicycles in the same direction. The strong collision caused the 2 female students to fall onto the road. Notably, the truck driver then continued to accelerate and leave.
The clip quickly received many mixed opinions from the online community. Most people expressed outrage at the truck driver's behavior.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. D.X (the taxi driver who posted the clip) said that the incident happened at about 9 am on September 3rd in the area near Tan Lap school, Tich Luong ward.
I have provided the video to the police, they are verifying and handling it," Mr. X. added.
Still in shock after the accident, Ms. Nguyen Thu (Tich Luong ward, Thai Nguyen province) said that one of the 2 female students is her daughter.
I was going to work when I was informed that my child and a friend had an accident. My child was scratched from falling onto the road, the other child had 2 broken front teeth, scratched a lot. Currently, his health is basically stable.
When the accident happened, the driver still accelerated and left. A resident took a motorbike to chase and reported to the truck driver, then they turned back," Ms. Thu said.
Also according to Ms. Thu, the truck driver wanted to handle it gently, agreeing on feelings with his family. However, both families did not agree.
After taking the children to the hospital, the driver said it was probably because the children were startled and fell. But when watching the video, it was not like that. The children are monitoring their health, so the family has not agreed to the agreement.
If the driver was driving correctly, I won't say anything, but driving like this, I hope the law will intervene to handle it. Functional agencies have also contacted the family to verify and clarify the incident," Ms. Thu said indignantly.
