Faced with the forecast that the traffic volume returning to Hanoi will increase sharply on the last day of the National Day holiday September 2nd, Hanoi City Police deployed a traffic diversion plan early and remotely, focusing on reducing pressure in the Nuoc Ngam Bus Station area and Co Linh intersection.
According to the plan, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on September 2nd, functional forces will organize remote traffic diversion, limiting large tonnage trucks from circulating through the two intersections above, based on the actual traffic situation.
Along with that, traffic police (CSGT) forces are strengthened at key routes and intersections to guide and regulate vehicles, limiting the risk of prolonged congestion or chain congestion when the number of vehicles returning to Hanoi from provinces increases.
Traffic police on the routes coordinate with local police to proactively grasp the traffic flow situation, organize regulation right from the routes leading to the gateway area.
When vehicle density increases, the traffic diversion plan will be adjusted accordingly to ensure safe, continuous and smooth traffic.
Hanoi City Police recommends that vehicle drivers, especially large tonnage truck drivers, proactively monitor traffic diversion information, choose appropriate routes and strictly comply with orders and instructions from functional forces.
For people returning to Hanoi in the afternoon and evening of September 2, functional forces recommend being proactive about time, choosing suitable routes; driving in the correct lane, keeping a safe distance and not changing lanes arbitrarily.
When traffic is crowded, vehicle drivers do not use emergency stop lanes on the expressway to move.
On the same morning, the Traffic Police Department informed that the traffic police force will continue to control and handle violations of safe distance on the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45 - Nghi Son expressway.
However, traffic police only control and handle traffic at locations that have been organized, including traffic signs and distance markings between vehicles according to regulations. These locations must also have a monitoring system to record violations in the form of electronic evidence.
According to the notice, the 2 locations controlled are at Km219 and Km326. The Traffic Police Department also noted that on other expressway sections, vehicle drivers must still proactively maintain a safe distance from vehicles running in front, based on traffic speed and actual conditions.
