On October 27, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Chairman of Hoang Tien Commune People's Committee - said that Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee had declared an emergency situation for a serious landslide of nearly 2km of coastal works in the locality.

According to Ms. Ha, after the landslide occurred, the commune had placed warning signs and deployed forces to remind people not to enter dangerous areas. For locations within the scope of hotels and tourist areas along the coast, investors will proactively overcome them according to the "4 on-site" motto.
As for localities, there have been submissions and plans sent to the Department of Agriculture and Environment; after receiving opinions from the department, the commune will coordinate to complete the project dossier to focus on handling.

Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 5 combined with high tides, big waves, the embankment roof in Thanh Xuan and Dong Thanh villages (Hoang Tien commune) was eroded about 300m.
Then, storm No. 10 caused strong waves, causing Hai Tien coast to continue to erode on a larger scale, about 1.5km long.
In this area, the entire sea embankment has sunk and peeled off; the vertical girder and cross- girder system has broken locks; the footrests of the roof have some sections of the road; the breakwater in many places is tilted towards the sea. The traffic route along the embankment is broken and heavily peeling. Inside, near the back of the breakwater, a 5-15m wide, 2-3m deep sinkhole appeared, posing a high potential danger.
