On September 17, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of the Department of Transport of Thanh Hoa province said that regarding the risk of landslides on the mountain (in Phu Thanh commune, Quan Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province), the unit has directed the functional forces to urgently handle the situation, ensuring the safety of people, vehicles and households here.
Currently, Thanh Hoa Road Management Joint Stock Company II has mobilized human resources and vehicles to carry out the work of unloading and cutting the Ban Do hill to prevent the risk of landslides (at Km20+800, National Highway 15, through Phu Thanh commune, Quan Hoa district).
The estimated volume of rock and soil to be unloaded and cut on the mountain is about 60,000m3. Unloading and cutting is one of the solutions to prevent landslides, especially in the face of complicated developments of rain and floods.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, due to the impact of storm No. 3, at Km20+800, on National Highway 15 (in Phu Thanh commune, Quan Hoa district), a large crack appeared on the mountain, with a high risk of landslides, threatening the safety of 10 households, with 38 people and 2 forest product processing factories.
Immediately after the incident, Quan Hoa district coordinated with relevant agencies to handle the rock and soil falling onto the road, and organized the evacuation of households living in areas at risk of being affected to safe places.
In addition, we will stretch ropes, install danger warning signs, and assign people to guard 24/7 to guide people and vehicles passing through here safely.
"For this landslide-prone area, we are urgently directing to take advantage of the sunny weather to handle the situation quickly and ensure safety before the weather becomes more complicated," informed a representative of the Thanh Hoa Province Department of Transport.
