On March 9, Phan Thiet Border Guard Station (Command of Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command) said that it had made records and fined 5 fishing vessels for violating regulations in fishing activities in the Phan Thiet Fishing Port area.
The violating fishing vessels include: BV 90559TS, BV 90703TS, BV 93303TS, BV 5571TS and BV 5570TS.
Through inspection, functional forces determined that the above fishing vessels all had expired technical safety certificates of fishing vessels when operating.
At the same time, before that, the ships voluntarily left the fishing port without notifying the fishing port management agency as prescribed.
With the above 2 violations, each fishing vessel was fined 28.5 million VND.
According to Phan Thiet Border Guard Station, the inspection and strict handling of violations aims to strengthen the management of fishing vessel activities, contributing to the implementation of regulations against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
