The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year is implemented according to Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT promulgating the Regulations on enrollment in lower secondary schools and enrollment in upper secondary schools. This content is applied uniformly nationwide.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, priority points are added to the total admission score calculated on a scale of 10 for each exam subject.
There are three groups of subjects who are given priority points in the 10th grade entrance exam.
Group 1 is added 2.0 points, including: Martyrs' children; children of wounded soldiers who have lost 81% or more of their working capacity; children of sick soldiers who have lost 81% or more of their working capacity; children of people who have been granted "Certification of person enjoying policies like wounded soldiers" but have a working capacity reduction of 81% or more; children of resistance war activists infected with chemical toxins; children of revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945; children of revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August Revolution in 1945.

Group 2 is added 1.5 points, including: Children of Heroes of the Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; children of wounded soldiers who have lost less than 81% of their working capacity; children of sick soldiers who have lost less than 81% of their working capacity; children of people who have been granted "Certification of person enjoying policies like wounded soldiers" but that person has a working capacity reduction of less than 81%.
Group 3 is added 1.0 point, including: People whose father or mother is an ethnic minority; ethnic minorities; students in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.
In addition, secondary school students who win provincial prizes organized by the Department of Education and Training or in coordination with departments and branches on a provincial scale for national-level organized competitions according to regulations are also given bonus points.
Consolation points are added to the total admission score on a scale of 10 for each exam subject and test; in which the First Prize is added 1.5 points; the Second Prize is added 1.0 points; the Third Prize is added 0.5 points.
