According to Son Tra Border Guard Station, recently, in Da Nang City, there has been a situation where some fishing vessels arbitrarily organize services to transport passengers to sea to participate in squid fishing and night fishing activities. Although not licensed, many ship owners still brazenly operate, even advertising heavily on social networking platforms such as Facebook, TikTok with many videos and articles introducing "night squid fishing experience in Da Nang".
This is an act that poses many potential safety risks, contrary to the provisions of the law on exploitation, protection of aquatic resources and waterway transport.
Conducting a peak period of inspection and handling of violations in seafood exploitation activities and ensuring safety of marine tourism, the Son Tra Border Guard has increased patrols and controls in the waters of the Son Tra Peninsula and neighboring areas.
As a result, at 5:30 p.m. on October 1, the working group discovered the fishing boat DNa-11837-TS carrying two passengers using illegal squid fishing services. The ship owner was fined 13 million VND.

Previously, at 10:30 a.m. on August 28, Son Tra Border Guard Station also discovered two vehicles DNa-11371-TS and DNa-11842-TS, each carrying 15 people, but could not present valid documents. Both ship owners were fined 12 million VND.
Son Tra Border Guard Station recommends that people and tourists should carefully research and only choose licensed units when participating in sea experience activities. The use of spontaneous boats that do not ensure legal conditions and technical safety can lead to many risks, affecting life and property.
According to the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, night squid fishing tourism services are not currently licensed; all activities organized in this way in the city are spontaneous.
