At about 12:30 on October 9, driver Nguyen Tien Dung was driving a truck with license plate 29E-407.XX in Nam Cuong Urban Area (Nghia Do Ward, Hanoi). When the car reached the headquarters of Nghia Do Ward Police, it suddenly dropped into a deep hole.
According to the reporter at the scene, the sinkhole was about 1m deep, spreading almost to the right side of the truck. At that time, there were a few goods on the bus.
Notably, a rescue vehicle was called to pull the truck up and then another hole next to it.

"I was sitting in the house when I heard a buzz, ran out and saw the rear wheel on the right side of the car gradually sinking. At this time, the driver quickly jumped out of the car and panicked," a local shared.
According to people living near the above area, there were previously some sinkholes on the edge of the road, and the authorities have placed some warnings to ensure safety.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan (living near the subsidence area) said that at the location where the truck had previously been in distress, there were no unusual signs, the car was still moving through.
"The truck must have been heavier so it collapsed, looking below it was very hollow. During the few days of heavy rain, the previous subsidence points formed whirlpools, which was very dangerous. We hope that relevant authorities will quickly take measures to handle the situation," Mr. Tuan shared.
The authorities are verifying the cause of the incident.
