Initial information, the death hole is located close to the fence of the official residence at Nguyen Binh Khiem Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, about 3m in diameter and 5m deep. Subsidence is long from the foot of the wall down to the Can stream flow. This location continues to have a high risk of landslides, especially when floods are still complicated.
Immediately after receiving information about the subsidence, the leaders of the People's Committee of Vo Nhai commune directly inspected the scene. Local leaders requested relevant units to quickly develop a landslide handling plan to ensure the safety of staff, teachers and students.
At the same time, the sinkhole will be quickly overcome to stabilize the conditions of facilities before the new school year 2025-2026.
The school's leaders have also informed the authorities and requested all cadres, teachers and staff not to approach the sinking area.
From March 2025, in Kim Lu commune, Na Ri district, Bac Kan (old), now Thai Nguyen province, unusual subsidence points have appeared continuously near National Highway 3B.
At the end of May 2025, a young man and a motorbike crashed into a fence and fell into a death hole on National Highway 3B.
