On August 25, the Military Command (CHQS) of Kien Hai Special Zone (An Giang Provincial Military Command) said that it had just coordinated with forces overnight to search and rescue, bringing 4 crew members on the sunken barge ashore safely.
At about 9:15 pm on August 24, the Military Command of Kien Hai Special Zone received information that a barge carrying construction iron of all kinds encountered an accident in the rocky beach area of Hamlet II, Kien Hai Special Zone. Due to big waves and strong winds, the vehicle sank, and 4 crew members were in danger in the sea.

Immediately upon receiving the information, officers and soldiers of the Kien Hai Special Military Command quickly coordinated with Hon Tre Border Guard Station, Naval Team 28, Police and local fishermen to deploy rescue forces.
At about 2 am on August 25, rescue forces approached the location of the accident vehicle, successfully rescued 4 crew members and took them to the Kien Hai Special Economic Zone Medical Center for monitoring and health care. Currently, the health of all 4 people has recovered and stabilized.
Not only participating in rescuing people at sea, throughout the night of August 24 and morning of August 25, officers, soldiers, and standing militia forces of the Kien Hai Special Military Command continued to coordinate with the police and local forces to mobilize to areas affected by storms and tornadoes, helping people overcome the consequences.

At about 9:30 pm on August 24, strong gusts of wind blew off the roof of a house in Hon Tre. At about 6 am on August 25, in Bai Bac hamlet, thunderstorms caused trees to fall and weigh on the roof of a household. Standing militia forces, along with the Police and forces in the hamlet, quickly arrived to support the family in fixing and reinforcing the roof, limiting damage.
