On August 25, the Military Command (CHQS) of Kien Hai Special Zone (An Giang Provincial Military Command) said that it had just coordinated with forces overnight to search and rescue, bringing 4 crew members on the sunken barge ashore safely.

At about 9:15 pm on August 24, the Military Command of Kien Hai Special Zone received information that a barge carrying construction iron of all kinds encountered an accident in the rocky beach area of Hamlet II, Kien Hai Special Zone. Due to big waves and strong winds, the vehicle sank, and 4 crew members were in danger in the sea.
